How to Export Snapchat Chats

Snapchat can hand over your saved chat data, though anything that already disappeared is gone for good.

Snapchat may not include messages that already disappeared or were never saved by either person — it can only export what Snapchat still has a record of.

Step 1. Open Snapchat and go to Settings, then My Data.

Step 2. Request your data.

Step 3. If given the option, select chat or message history specifically.

Step 4. Submit the request and wait for Snapchat to prepare your file — you'll get a notification.
